Intersport, the international sport and media agency, has been brought in an official partner of the International Handball Federation’s (IHF) 2025 Men’s World Championship.

As part of the partnership, Intersport branding will have a large presence at all 65 handball games across the five venues, on LED perimeter boards, floor branding, and press conference backdrops.

The partnership was facilitated by Sportfive, the exclusive marketer of global media and marketing rights for all IHF World Championships through 2031.

The tournament will take place from January 14 to February 2, 2025, across Croatia, Denmark, and Norway.

Andy Hogg, Intersport international general manager of brand and marketing, has said: “Intersport is incredibly proud to be the official partner of the IHF Men’s World Championship 2025, and to play our part in bringing Europe’s passionate Handball community together.

“We pride ourselves on being a global brand with a genuine local impact, meaning it is especially important to be supporting an event in which so many of our local Intersport markets are competing.”

Hassan Moustafa, president of the IHF, added: "The IHF is pleased to acknowledge the partnership signed with Intersport, a key player in sporting goods retail. Once again, the interest provided in handball by such important and reputable companies throughout the world is raising the bar and helping the sport become even more popular.

“Events like the IHF Men’s World Championship continue to attract more and more interest and are recognized as valuable ones for our partners and we look forward to a fruitful partnership with Intersport.”

Last week, the IHF also announced Falken Tyres Europe, an arm of the Japanese tire manufacturer, as an event partner for the event.

This deal builds on a similar tie-up Falken had covering the 2023 World Championship in Poland and Sweden.

Late last month, meanwhile, the IHF (also brokered by Sportfive) partnered with fastener supplier Wurth around the 2025 World Championships, in this case, both the men’s and women’s events. The Women’s World Championship will run across Germany and the Netherlands next November and December.

Outside specific World Championships, meanwhile, the list of IHF commercial partners includes Gerflor, Hummel, and Molten.
