Hasan Moustafa, the president of the International Handball Federation, is set to continue in that position for another four-year term, after being confirmed as the only candidate for the presidency at the governing body's upcoming elections later this year.
Moustafa, from Egypt, who has been at the helm of the IHF since 2000, will continue for another four years, which will take his time in charge up to 25 years across six terms by the time of the next elections in 2025.

A former vice-president at the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations, he will be 81 by then. (The IHF has no age or term limits regarding its president or for any other senior role.)
The congress between 5 and 8 November, scheduled to take place in Antalya, Turkey, will be the third consecutive election in which Moustafa has retained the presidency unopposed. The last time he faced an opponent was at the 2009 IHF elections.
Under his tenure, handball has cemented its status as a core Olympic sport, while the showpiece World Championship has been expanded from 24 to 32 teams.
