Cricket Australia (CA), the national governing body, has promoted Lachlan Henderson to chair of its board of directors.

In his new role, Henderson, who has been on the CA board since 2018, will aim to maintain the integrity of the organization at all levels.

He will also “focus on a strong, sustainable financial future for the game, and building on the growth in our participation rates particularly among girls and women, and our multi-cultural communities.”

Henderson succeeds Richard Freudenstein, who held the role on an interim basis following the resignation of Earl Eddings last October.

Henderson, who currently serves as chief executive at Epworth HealthCare, brings experience in the cricket industry to the role, having previously served as chair at the Western Australian Cricket Association for over three years.
