TGL, the new tech-infused stadium-based golf league launched by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports venture, has announced golf simulator firm Full Swing as its official technology partner.
The new agreement will see Full Swing’s innovations power the gameplay element of the competition, which TGL hopes will appeal to a wider audience, including the virtual courses, displayed on a large screen within the stadium.
The company will use a customized software platform to help bring TGL tournaments to life, while accurately recording shot distance and impact.
As part of the tie-up, Full Swing will also build three virtual greens, equipped with 189 actuators and jacks to dynamically alter slope and gradients. Other tech elements include practice simulators and a touchscreen monitor-based virtual caddy system.
Full Swing chief executive Ryan Dotters said: “Across our simulator software experience, KIT launch monitor, and Virtual Green that can literally shift the type of putts the players will face, our entire product line will be represented with TGL.
“We’re actively customizing and super-sizing these tech solutions and several software platforms for the league’s unique needs

By GlobalDataThe league was first announced by Woods and McIlroy last August while launching TMRW Sports alongside sports industry executive Mike McCarley. It is due to launch in January 2024 at a custom-built venue at Palm Beach State College in Florida, US, and will feature a “data-rich, virtual course complete with a tech-infused, short-game complex” and a “high-energy, greenside fan experience with every shot live within a two-hour, primetime televised match.”
The league's inaugural season will feature 15 regular-season matches, as well as semi-final and final matches, which will take place weekly on a Monday within a two-hour window on US prime-time television.
Along with Woods and McIlroy, 12 players have signed up to compete including Jon Ram, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa, Billy Horschel, and Rickie Fowler, all of whom will be assigned to one of six franchises.
The league has attracted a number of high-profile sports investors, including Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton, Alex Albon, Lando Norris, and Carlos Sainz, as well as the NBA’s Stephen Curry, NFL’s Josh Allen, MLB’s Trea Turner, NHL’s Sidney Crosby, US soccer player Alex Morgan, and tennis legend Venus Williams.
Other non-sports investors include Apex Capital, Excel Sports Management, Connect Ventures, 25madison Ventures, and Misfits Gaming Group.
The new partnership, meanwhile, adds to Full Swing's portfolio of clients which includes US golf’s PGA Tour, as well as several players that will feature in the TGL, such as Rahm, Schauffele, and Woods.
Woods said: “When we started looking at the technology required to make TGL a reality, I knew that Full Swing would be the key company I’d be comfortable working with to provide the best experience for players and viewers.
“I’ve used Full Swing for almost 10 years now and it continually innovates to make the experience better across its entire product line that I use at home and on the range. This is why I trust Full Swing to help power a majority of TGL’s gameplay platform.”
