US sports-focused OTT streaming service and internet TV platform Fubo TV has confirmed a new carriage agreement with the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise for its in-house regional sports network (RSN).

Fubo will carry Rangers Sports Network, broadcasting all Texas Rangers home games not selected for national coverage live to members of its English-language paid plans in Texas, as well as neighboring states Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

In addition, Rangers Sports Network-produced pre- and post-game shoulder content will also be included in the broadcast partnership, while Fubo will separately host the Rangers Sports Network as a whole as a paid add-on that can be combined with the Spanish-language or free-tier plans across the relevant states.

As part of the deal, Fubo has become a commercial partner of the Rangers, and will take on a branding presence at the team’s 40,300-capacity Globe Life Field stadium in prominent spots such as behind home plate. It will also collaborate with the franchise on co-branded fan engagement initiatives such as sweepstakes.

Rangers Sports Network was launched in January 2025 to serve as its local broadcaster amid the collapse of its broadcast partnership with the Main Street Sports Group (then known as Diamond Sports Group) RSN operator.

The Rangers franchise will begin its 2025 MLB campaign at home on March 27 against the Boston Red Sox.

For Fubo TV, meanwhile, the Texas Rangers represents the first prominent US sports media acquisition of 2025 for the TV service after a tumultuous 2024.

2024 began with the launch of a lawsuit against media giants Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Fox over its now curtailed streaming joint venture Venu Sports, and ended with the company dropping that lawsuit after it was purchased by Disney and merged with its Hulu service.

The effect of that final sale agreement, which sees Disney own approximately 70% of the Fubo business, will be better illustrated under the first full year of the partnership in 2025.

In merging Fubo with its Hulu + Live TV business, however, Disney has given the streamer an even greater subscriber base to draw from, although they will continue to be available to customers as separate entities for now.

Across the calendar year 2024 Fubo posted $1.59 billion in revenue, up 19%  from the $1.37 billion it generated across 2023, complemented by a 4% year-on-year increase in paid subscribers, which now total over 1.67 million.
