Top-tier Italian soccer side FC Como Women have announced global sportswear giant NIKE as their new first-team kit provider ahead of the 2024-25 Serie A Femminile season.

As technical partner, Nike will provide Como with their first-team home and away matchday kits, as well as other club apparel.

The deal becomes the supply sponsorship of an independent (not affiliated to a men’s side) Italian Serie A Femminile team, and a first for FC Como Women since it was purchased in March by women’s soccer investment group Mercury13.

Speaking on the new partnership Jennifer Myron, Nike vice president and general manager of the women’s division in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, has stated: “We are proud of the role we have played in fostering and supporting the continued growth of the women’s game for both the elite and amateur athlete.

“One of the most exciting forces for change is the continued rise of women’s sports, and the partnership with FC Como Women solidifies our commitment to inviting more women into football.”

FC Como Women played with adidas apparel in 2023-24, prior to the takeover by Mercury13.

In Serie A Femminile, Nike is also the official kit provider of Inter Milan, although that deal covers the club's men’s team as well.

Meanwhile, in the men’s Serie A, newly promoted Como 1907 (bearing no relation to FC Como Women) have announced their new official sleeve sponsor for the 2024-25 season as Indonesian electronics company Polytron.

Polytron, which is owned by the Djarum Group conglomerate that also owns Como 1907, will take up sleeve branding rights for all Como kits through the season as it becomes the club’s official electronics partner.

Tekno Wibowo, Polytron chief commercial officer, has opened the door to further integration between the two, saying: “We are proud to become Como 1907’s electronics partner as it continues to grow in the world of football, and explore possibilities of co-development in consumer electronics and its use at the club and its facilities.”

Como facilities and operations will now employ Polytron electronic products.

Como 1907 were promoted back to Serie A after a lengthy absence, earlier this year. The team's front-of-shirt sponsor is ride-sharing and taxi service Uber.

They lost their first game of the 2024-25 season, away to Juventus, on August 19.
