European golf’s DP World Tour has struck a new deal with the Golf+ virtual reality (VR) experience available on the Meta Quest site.

Through a partnership unveiled today, the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai will be made available – virtually – for Golf+ users to play in virtual reality.

That course is where the DP World Tour Championship – the tour’s end-of-season event – takes place.

Through Golf+ on Meta Quest, golf fans will be able to walk the course in virtual reality, as if they were in Dubai.

Golf+ is already the official VR golf game of the DP World Tour.

Richard Bunn, the DP World Tour’s chief revenue and content officer, has said: “This collaboration is a fantastic opportunity to engage both seasoned golfers and newcomers to the game, allowing them to experience one of our Tour’s most iconic venues like never before.”

The Earth Course will be available to all Meta Quest users from November 6 (tomorrow).

The tour, in November 2022, partnered with virtual reality golf game Golf5 eClub to launch a new tournament in the metaverse.

That tournament involved Golf5 eClub players being invited to compete against each other in a virtual reality simulation of the final three holes of the same Earth Course in Dubai.

That game was produced in partnership with developer AAA Game Studios.
