A commercial deal between the European Handball Federation (EHF) and German automotive testing firm Dekra, covering the Men’s and Women's EHF Euros, has been struck.
Through a deal unveiled today – brokered by the Infront sports marketing agency – Dekra becomes the official referees' partner for both events.
The brand will benefit from “a range of visible and non-visible rights”, including referees’ clothing advertising, perimeter advertising, and branding in the review area during video replay decisions.
The teams' fair play messages, to be shown in the arenas before every Euros game, will also be presented by Dekra.
This follows on from Dekra becoming a sponsor of the International Handball Federation’s (IHF) World Championships – men’s and women's – through 2027. That deal was announced last December.
The 2026 men's EHF Euros will take place across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, between January 15 and February 1, while the women's tournament will run between December 3 and 20, in Poland, Romania, Czechia, Slovakia, and Türkiye.
Michael Wiederer, president of the EHF, said: “The EHF Euro offers numerous opportunities for companies to communicate their core messages in many markets and reach new target groups. Together with Dekra, we would like to work on a successful implementation of the set goals in the coming months so that this first partnership can build the foundation for a longer-term collaboration.”
In terms of recent commercial deals covering the 2026 Euros, in late January, Kinexon Sport, the sports arm of the German tracking and analytics company, had a deal extension unveiled. The new agreement will run through 2028 and include the 2026 and 2028 editions of the men’s and women’s Euros, and will likely also include the men’s and women’s editions of the EuroCup in 2026.
Infront is the EHF's exclusive media and commercial rights partner, in a deal running through 2030.
