Chelsea, the English Premier League soccer club, have today announced a strategic partnership with South Korean digital platform Naver.
The tie-up will see the launch of an official Chelsea Naver TV channel, through which exclusive content will be showcased on Naver Sports.
The official Naver TV channel will offer supporters in South Korea, which Chelsea describe as “a key international market”, an array of content, including behind-the-scenes footage, match highlights, and interviews with players and staff.
Naver claims to have over 50 million daily active users and over 4.5 million for its Naver Sports content verticals.
Phil Lynch, chief digital officer at Chelsea, said: “Our partnership with Naver’s cutting-edge platform allows us an extra avenue to offer unique content to connect more deeply with our passionate fans in South Korea – allowing them to get closer to the club and our players.”
Joo Kun Bum, head of sports at Naver, added: “We look forward to bringing Chelsea’s dynamic content to our users and strengthening the connection between the club and its supporters in South Korea.”
