Esports organization Blast has announced a multi-year deal with video game maker Epic Games to run its competitive tournaments – the Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) and Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS).
The collaboration entails Blast running the competitions, event production, and marketing, as well as the esports organization being responsible for the commercial rights of both games’ competitive broadcasts and events.
The deal is an expansion of an existing three-year partnership with FNCS, with Blast having delivered numerous FNCS events such as October’s Global Championship in Copenhagen’s Royal Arena.
Leo Matlock, chief business officer for Blast, said: “We believe this partnership represents the future of competitive gaming, where organizations like Blast can work in tandem with world-leading publishers to create incredible experiences for players and teams to compete at the top level in front of fans all over the world.
“Working together with the world’s biggest game publishers to elevate and grow their competitive properties has been a huge area of focus for Blast in recent years.”
Blast’s FNCS partnership began in 2021, with the All-Star Showdown and Grand Royale events, followed by Blast covering the entirety of the 2022 and 2023 FNCS schedules.
