AC Milan, traditional heavyweights from Italian soccer's top-tier Serie A, have brought in Brazilian betting brand Reals as a new commercial partner.
Through a tie-up unveiled today, Reals has become the official regional betting partner of the Milan team across Latin America.
The deal, Milan have suggested, will increase the club's visibility across the soccer-loving region.
Maikel Oettle, AC Milan’s chief commercial officer, has said: “By working with Reals, we aim to strengthen our connection with a crucial segment of our fanbase in Latin America. This partnership opens up new avenues for fan engagement and interaction, allowing us to bring the club closer to both our loyal supporters and new fans.”
In terms of current South American players at AC Milan, Brazil’s Emerson Royal is the sole representative.
Mid-March saw AC Milan unveil Francesca Montini as their new chief brand officer.
Montini will be reporting to Milan chief executive Giorgio Furlani in her new role, where she will oversee the club’s marketing, branding, communication, content and digital departments.
Rafael Borges, chief executive at Reals, added: “Considering the betting companies created in Brazil and authorized to operate in the country, this is a pioneering and unprecedented international agreement. Through it, Reals takes another important step in consolidating its brand as a reference among the main sponsors in the sports universe and attests to its position as a serious and secure company for bettors.”
Sports betting in Brazil has grown in size and scale exponentially in recent years, with a legal market having finally launched in January.
