Warner Bros. Discovery, the US media conglomerate and 2024 Olympic Games rightsholder in several global territories, has announced tech giant Samsung as the presenting partner of its coverage of the Paris games.

Samsung, an existing worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partner in the wireless communications equipment and computing equipment categories, will activate alongside WBD’s pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport (the official Olympics rightsholder in several European territories), and global sports-focused content platform Bleacher Report.

As the presenting partner for the Olympics on Eurosport, Samsung will gain a major sponsorship presence across Eurosport Olympic TV coverage in the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden, most notably with the title sponsorship of a particular TV editorial coverage segment.

This sponsorship placement will extend to Eurosport’s kid-focused YouTube video offerings that utilize the Olympic Archive, as well as Bleacher Report’s “Olympic Takeover” highlights offering.

Samsung takes over from Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone, which was the presenting partner of Eurosport's coverage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

WBD holds Olympic rights in 47 European territories, but in the Republic of Ireland, the rights are held by state broadcaster RTE, which announced financial services firm Allianz as the presenting partner for its own 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games coverage.

Brokered by the Starcom agency, Allianz becomes RTE’s first-ever Olympic and Paralympic presenting partner, gaining sponsorship inventory on the games’ coverage across RTE’s linear TV networks and its OTT platform, RTE Player.

The Paris 2024 Olympics will begin on July 26 and run through August 11, while the Paralympics will follow with its own opening on August 28 and ending on September 9.
