Wasserman, the international sports agency, has announced the acquisition of branding and signage company Bluemedia as it continues to execute its ambitious growth strategy.
Bluemedia, founded in 1997, specializes in event signage across the US and counts American football’s NFL and its flagship Super Bowl event, the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs team, Las Vegas Grand Prix, Phoenix Raceway, college sports’ NCAA, and the Atlanta Falcons Stadium Company among its 250-plus clients.
As part of the acquisition, Bluemedia president Gina Patel will join Wasserman as group vice president of Wasserman Live, the agency’s branding and signage, custom fabrication, live event production, and experiential operations division.
Patel and her team will continue to operate from Bluemedia’s facility in Tempe, Arizona, working alongside Wasserman Live, which operates from Charlotte, North Carolina.
The company will formally rebrand as Wasserman Live later this year but will continue to operate under the Bluemedia brand in the interim.
Patel said: “We are proud to have created an exceptional business here at Bluemedia and joining Wasserman was the logical next step in our growth journey.
“Wasserman Live’s global expertise is unmatched in the industry and coupled with our in-depth understanding of the U.S. market, we’re excited to see what we can achieve together. It’s my privilege to be leading the business through this next chapter.”
The acquisition of Bluemedia is the latest step Wasserman has taken to bolster its business, having recently acquired talent agency Momentum Hockey, digital creator agency Long Haul Management, and soccer talent representation business International Football Management.
Last year, the company acquired Ireland-based athlete management firm Line Up Sports, which followed deals to purchase UK women’s soccer agency Volante Sports in April, the launch of Wasserman Cricket in March (through the rebranding of cricket talent agency Phoenix Management Group), and the acquisition and rebrand of CSM Sport & Entertainment in October 2023 and March 2024, respectively.
Alistair Berwick, group managing director of Wasserman Live, said: “Bluemedia has built an incredible reputation for elevating live events on behalf of several of the most high-profile brands in sports.
“This acquisition enhances our growth strategy in the region and sets the foundations for the years to come.”
