Viacom18, one of India’s leading entertainment networks, has today (November 8) announced a new long-term media rights agreement with Cricket South Africa, the national governing body.
The seven-year deal gives Viacom18 exclusive digital and TV rights in India for all international cricket from 2024 to 2031.
The network will air all senior men’s international and senior women’s international competitions played in South Africa, including the Mahatma Gandhi-Nelson Mandela Series between India and South Africa.
The deal also includes other series like the Basil D’Oliveira against England and tours from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies, Australia, and Bangladesh.
The agreement will bolster Viacom18’s offering of South African cricket and quickly follows on from its 10-year deal with CSA to show the body’s new SA20 Twenty20 league last week (November 3).
Anil Jayaraj, Viacom18 Sports chief executive, said: “South Africa is one of the most competitive and formidable teams across formats in world cricket, and this partnership will offer some great contests to the cricket-loving fans in India.
