Pay-TV heavyweight Canal Plus has snapped up rights to TGL, the tech-infused golf league founded by icons Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports entertainment venture, in France, Switzerland, and sub-Saharan Africa.
A two-year tie-up between TMRW and the France-based broadcaster was unveiled yesterday, covering the competition’s inaugural 2025 campaign – getting underway in Florida in early January – as well as the 2026 season.
Every game from the six-team tournament will be covered live by Canal Plus across France, Switzerland, and around 50 sub-Saharan African territories.
This adds to the network’s existing golf portfolio, which includes the Ryder Cup, PGA Tour, the DP World Tour in Europe, and a range of women’s events.
The first-ever TGL match will take place on January 7, 2025, at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The league is set to make its long-awaited debut with initial plans to begin in 2024 having been scrapped due to storm damage to the host venue.
It will feature six teams of PGA Tour stars competing in a season-long competition from January through March.

By GlobalDataIn terms of its other media partners, earlier this month a two-year agreement with the Disney+ streaming service in the Nordics was announced.
Disney+ will air TGL action in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland and will be included as part of customers’ subscriptions.
Other international media partners include Fox Sports in Australia, Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ in Canada, U-Next in Japan, and JTBC/Phoenix Sports International in South Korea. ESPN holds domestic rights to the property.
TGL has claimed the Canal Plus agreement takes it up to 67 countries in terms of coverage availability.
December has also seen the property strike several sponsorship deals, including most recently with electronics giant Samsung.
SoFi, meanwhile, is the series’ presenting partner and the naming rights partner for its venue.
