Telemundo Deportes, the US broadcaster owned by media giant NBCUniversal, has secured Spanish-language rights to the semifinals and final of the 2023 edition of the US Open Cup, the country's oldest soccer competition.
The agreement will see Telemundo broadcast the matches live on its Telemundo and Universo channels, as well as its streaming platform Peacock.
Coverage will begin on August 23 with a semi-final match between FC Cincinnati and Inter Miami shown on Telemundo and Peacock. The second semi-final between Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake on August 24 will be shown via Universo and Peacock.
This marks the first Spanish-language coverage of the Open Cup since the 2018 final.
The 2023 final on September 27 will be broadcast live and stream on Peacock, while additional Telemundo coverage and broadcast details for the final will be announced at a later date.
Earlier this year Telemundo Deportes secured domestic Spanish-language rights to games involving the US men’s and women’s national soccer teams as part of a multi-year deal with the US Soccer Federation governing body.
