Hong Kong pay-TV operator Now TV has unveiled a deal to cover all matches live from European men’s national team soccer’s UEFA European Championships this year.

Now TV will cover all 51 games from Euro 2024, which is taking place in Germany between June 14 and July 14, exclusively.

HKT and its parent company PCCW have held European Championships rights in Hong Kong since the 2008 edition of the tournament.

The action will be available via a Now TV set-top box, or the Now TV mobile app, while on-demand action will also be presented via the Now TV streaming service.

Bruce Lam, chief executive of consumer at the Hong Kong Telecom (HKT) owner of Now TV, has said: “This is the fifth time in a row that Now TV has become the official broadcaster for the UEFA Euros since 2008 … Leveraging our extensive experience in producing and broadcasting large-scale international sports events, we will continue to offer the world’s best sports actions to our audience.”

Matches taking place at midday or early afternoon in Germany will fall into primetime Hong Kong slots.

Earlier this year, Now TV, which launched in 2003, rolled out an OTT streaming app as an alternative to its traditional set-top box.

For Euro 2024 (which will contain 24 teams), media rights deals were unveiled last December in both Indonesia and Vietnam.

CAA Eleven is UEFA's main sales agent for media rights covering its national team competitions.
