American football’s elite National Football League (NFL) has extended its podcast-centric partnership with radio media giant iHeartMedia.
The initial partnership saw the 2021 launch of the jointly branded NFL Podcast Network, the exclusive home of official NFL podcasts.
This multi-year renewal will see new content series’ produced for the network, in addition to the continuation of the existing podcast series’ already being distributed by iHeart.
In addition, iHeart will also endeavor to bring other existing NFL-centric podcasts into the network in order to expand its reach.
Speaking on the deal, NFL vice president of business development and strategic investments Brent Lawton stated: “Since its launch in 2021, the NFL Podcast Network has delivered NFL fans best-in-class storytelling and podcast content, and we look forward to developing new podcasts and more content with iHeart.”
Will Pearson, president of iHeartPodcasts, added: ““The NFL Podcast Network continues to grow and capture new audiences, and we’re thrilled to strengthen the successful partnership between iHeart and the NFL with new shows and the addition of more team podcasts.

iHeartMedia has a strong presence across sports beyond just the NFL.
In 2024, US media giant NBCUniversal, the official broadcaster of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the country, selected iHeartMedia as its exclusive audio partner for its coverage of the major sporting event.
As part of the deal, iHeartRadio provided 24-hour-a-day coverage via play-by-play audio channels of select NBCU linear coverage of the games, created an original Olympic iHeartPodcast, produced Olympic-specific episodes from some of its top podcasts, and promoted tune-in for NBCU’s live content.
