NOS, the public-service broadcaster in the Netherlands, has extended its highlights tie-up with Dutch men's soccer’s top-tier Eredivisie, with that league having also struck a new deal with telecom operator KPN.

The NOS deal (struck with the Eredivisie Media and Marketing arm) entails highlights of Eredivisie action continuing to be available through the public-service broadcaster through the 2026-27 season, representing a two-campaign extension.

This will continue both via linear TV and online, while highlights from the Women’s Eredivisie are also included in the overall deal.

NOS currently provides highlights via its NOS Studio Sport Eredivisie show every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with summaries and reviews of every game.

The previous deal for Eredivisie highlights on NOS was unveiled in May 2022 and runs through the ongoing 2024-25 season.

On that tie-up, Geert Hofman, business director at NOS, said: “Eredivisie football at NOS brings millions of people together every week and has become part of Dutch culture. We see it as our public duty to keep the summaries of the most important Dutch football competition public and accessible to everyone.”

In terms of NOS’ other top-tier soccer rights, the broadcaster will cover the next two editions of the men's FIFA World Cup national teams tournament, in 2026 and 2030, while it also showed 25 games from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

KPN, meanwhile, has acquired online highlights rights for the Eredivisie, from 2025-26 through 2029-30.

The telecoms firm will also be able to provide goal alerts and clips immediately after they are scored, with highlights then available immediately after each game via KPN TV+ and the MijnKPN mobile app.

Jochem de Jong, vice president of partnerships, TV, and entertainment at KPN, commented: "As a proud sponsor of Dutch football in its entirety and partner of ESPN where you can watch all matches live, KPN is the provider of Dutch football. In the new season, you will be even more on the ball with KPN with the goal alerts and summaries.”

Live Eredivisie domestic coverage rights are held by ESPN, with that heavyweight sports broadcaster having extended through to 2030 with the soccer league last February.
