North America’s Major League Soccer (MLS) has renewed its broadcast partnership with the heavyweight IMG agency, in a move that will expand its production output.
The two parties have agreed a multi-year extension of their existing broadcast production relationship as the league seeks to advance its broadcast operation.
As part of the new tie-up, MLS Productions, the league’s media and broadcast production arm, will move to WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, and the wrestling promotion’s new, production facility – The Studios at WWE.
MLS will use the facility to “further elevate the production of MLS Season Pass.”
It will serve as the hub for MLS live studio programming and content in English and Spanish. The new location for MLS Season Pass, the league’s global subscription streaming offering under its 10-year deal with tech giant Apple, will enable MLS Productions to add programming in the new season.
The Studios at WWE is a 30,000-square-foot, production facility equipped with five technologically advanced studios, production amenities, and a virtual production stage.
