The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the production of three new documentary series in collaboration with streaming giant Netflix.

This includes Simone Biles: Rising, a documentary focusing on the most decorated gymnast's highly anticipated return to the games.

This will be a four-part series, with two episodes premiering in July. The series is being produced by Religion of Sports, in association with the Olympic Channel, and will be broadcast by the IOC's global media rights-holders.

The two other docuseries will be season two of Sprint, which will follow 100 and 200-meter sprinters including Sha’Carri Richardson, Noah Lyles, and Shericka Jackson, while the third offering will focus on Olympic men’s basketball.

The IOC is enhancing its non-live content strategy as it seeks to engage audiences outside of the Olympics.

The tie-up with the IOC expands Netflix's sports offering, with the streaming heavyweight also dipping its toe into live action.

Earlier this week, the company secured a deal to stream NFL Christmas Day games for the next three seasons.

It will also be showing the bout between social media star Jake Paul and boxing legend Mike Tyson on July 20.

The fight will be the third live sports event created by the platform, following the Netflix Cup golf competition and Netflix Slam tennis competition.
