Extensions to existing deals, meanwhile, have been outlined with Arena in the Balkans, Polsat in Poland, MTVA in Hungary, SportTV in Portugal, and Ziggo in the Netherlands.

Jens Mennigmann, co-head of media at Infront, has said: "Securing this mix of both free-to-air and pay-TV coverage is a promising beginning to this phase of our relationship with the Diamond League.

Infront has also said that the rights sales process in other territories is ongoing.

Petr Stastny, chief executive of Diamond League AG, added: "These broadcast agreements symbolize the next stage in the evolution of our series, fitting perfectly with our vision for its growth.

The partnership is a subset of Infront’s with World Athletics, who govern the Diamond League, with the deal also covering the global media rights partnerships for the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold and Indoor Tour Gold.

The 2024 Diamond League is running between April 20 and September 14.
