The MNC Indonesian media group has signed up to become the exclusive media rights partner across Indonesia, the Philippines, and Timor-Leste, for the next two editions of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship.
The deal, brokered by international sports marketing giant Sportfive and announced by that agency earlier today (November 25), starts with the 2022 edition of the AFF’s premier national teams’ tournament, which will take place from December 20 to January 16.
MNC will cover the 2022 and 2024 AFF Championships, southeast Asia's top-tier national teams' soccer event, via both free-to-air and pay mediums, across TV, the internet, over-the-top streaming, and mobile.
The Vision+ and RCTI+ video streaming services, active in the Philippines and Timor-Leste, will also cover the action.
The 2022 tournament is known as the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup for sponsorship reasons and will involve 10 teams – Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam – playing across nine cities.
These venues are split between the various countries competing.
