All-electric off-road motorsport series Extreme E has announced the extension of its broadcast partnership in Chile with free-to-air network Canal 13.

The partnership renewal means that Canal 13 will continue to air the full complement of Extreme E races through its already-underway 2024 season, with Canal 13 having held rights to the series since 2021.

Canal 13 will air live race feeds on its www.13.cl digital platform with coverage in both English and Spanish languages.

The broadcaster will also air shoulder programming for each race and ancillary content surrounding the series such as magazine shows, behind-the-scenes content, and interview segments, on the digital platform.

Speaking on the renewed partnership, Extreme E managing director Ali Russell stated: “I'm thrilled that we will continue to bring our sport-for-purpose series to Canal 13's digital audience in Chile. Our broadcast package has gained immense popularity since its inception, which is evident from our impressive audience numbers.

“With Canal 13 on our territories roster, we can continue to share not only the thrilling race action that Extreme E provides but also the broader messages of our championship around electrification, environment, and equality.”

The third and fourth rounds of the 2024 Extreme E season are scheduled for July 13 and 14 at a yet-to-be-announced destination in Europe. The season opened on February 17 with the Desert XPrix in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Extreme E has tied up a number of media rights renewals in the last number of months in order to maintain its broadcast presence, most notably with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD)-owned pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport, with which it agreed a multi-year extension in March.

Agreed with WBD, Eurosport screens Extreme E in over 50 European territories, as well as in the Middle East and North Africa.

The original tie-up between the two came in late 2020.
