Central European commercial network Nova Sport has snapped up a selection of rights across the Czech Republic to pan-European club soccer’s UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League.
The deal covers first-choice games in those two lower-tier competitions organized by European soccer’s governing body UEFA across the next three seasons, 2024-25 to the end of 2026-27.
Europa League and Conference League games are set to be available on the newly launched Nova Sport 5 for the next three seasons.
Currently, Europa League and Europa Conference League (that competition will be renamed at the end of 2023-24) action is shown across the Czech Republic by Czech TV, and by the AMC Networks media group (which has also renewed a selection of action from the next three seasons of these competitions, it was revealed late last month).
The latter operator also covers the top-tier UEFA Champions League during the current cycle.
From 2024-25, both the Europa League and the Conference League will expand in size, incorporating more teams and a larger number of games.
Nova, meanwhile, unveiled a tie-up in February this year with mixed martial arts’ Professional Fighters League (PFL) and also agreed to a deal with motor racing’s top-tier Formula 1 in October.
