Dyn Media, the new sports streaming platform headed up by former DFL German soccer head Christian Seifert, has unveiled a long-term carriage agreement with German heavyweight pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland.
Part of the tie-up revolves around a “newly developed app by Dyn,” which will be offered via the Sky platform from the start of the 2023-24 German sporting season.
During 2023-24, all sporting properties to which Dyn holds rights will be fully available on Sky’s Dyn app.
Sky customers with an active Sky Q subscription will, therefore, be able to access all matches from the Handball Bundesliga, as well as from other properties to which Dyn holds rights across basketball, volleyball, and table tennis.
Marcel Wontorra, chief operating officer at Dyn, said: “Sky customers who are enthusiastic about sports can, as before, experience all games of the Handball Bundesliga plus even more attractive sports. We are very happy to be present with Dyn on Germany's largest platform for entertainment and sports content in the future."
Evelyn Rothblum, executive vice president for advertising, partnerships, and distribution at Sky Deutschland and Sky Italia, added: “Through the partnership with Dyn, we are consistently continuing on our path of combining the best content on one platform. We are offering customers an incomparably attractive offer for Dyn so that they can enjoy world-class handball, basketball, and much more on Sky Q in the future.”

In late May, Dyn entered into an extensive four-year sub-licensing agreement with Germany's two prominent public service broadcasters ARD and ZDF.
The deal was struck between Dyn and SportA, the agency which covers sports rights for the two public service broadcasters.
As well as live action, the four-year tie-up covers highlights, short-form clips to be used across digital platforms, and game images.
May also saw Dyn announce a partnership with the German media and telecoms giant Deutsche Telekom.
