The DFL German soccer body has teamed up with OneFootball, the soccer video and editorial site, to launch a dedicated international OTT platform in select territories.
Following the service’s debut in India in August – offering exclusive live coverage of all second-tier Bundesliga 2 matches – the Bundesliga Pass OTT service will now be rolled out to Vietnam and South Africa.
Viewers in these markets can watch every top-flight Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 match live through OneFootball’s pay-per-view and Season Pass models.
The digital offering will complement existing local broadcast agreements.
Live television rights in Viertnam are currently held by pay-TV broadcaster VTVcab, while state broadcaster SABC and pay-TV operator StarTimes share rights in South Africa.
Bundesliga Pass was officially launched in Vietnam last week, while the service will go live in South Africa in January 2025. The DFL stated that further international markets could follow.

By GlobalDataThrough the OneFootball tie-up, Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches will be live-streamed co-exclusively via the OneFootball platform, available on mobile and connected TV applications, as well as the website.
Live matches will be accompanied by short-form video content, highlights, and supplementary programming from the DFL’s International Product Portfolio.
The new partnership builds on existing ties between the DFL and OneFootball, as the platform holds rights to stream the Bundesliga in Brazil.
Marc Lenz, DFL CEO, said: “Our new OTT offering for international markets represents a strategic move to further enhance the visibility of Bundesliga content around the globe, providing us with more flexibility and new options in the marketing of our media rights.
“The media landscape and the media consumption behaviour of fans have changed – and this partnership and new offering is a key component in reaching football fans around the world.”
Maurits Schön, OneFootball's chief operating officer, added: “OneFootball has been a partner of the DFL for several years now, having streamed Bundesliga matches in Brazil since the 2020-21 season.
“The launch of the Bundesliga Pass is a natural progression of this partnership, enabling us to expand our reach and deliver a flexible, fan-centric viewing experience to audiences internationally, starting in Vietnam, South Africa, and India."
The DFL can now switch its focus to international rights after finally concluding its protracted domestic sales process recently.
Pay-TV giant Sky Deutschland and global sports streaming service DAZN will once again serve as the Bundesliga’s main broadcast partners after picking up the main live rights packages.
Free-to-air commercial broadcaster Sat.1 also secured an extensive live free-to-air (FTA) rights package.
ARD and ZDF, Germany's two prominent public service broadcasters, have retained highlight rights packages, while multi-channel FTA network Sport1 also has rights to broadcast highlights of Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga games.
