Super League Triathlon (SLT), the professional triathlon series, has agreed a deal with DAZN that will see it be broadcast on the global streaming platform until 2023.
The partnership, announced yesterday (August 30), covers the 2022 and 2023 seasons of SLT’s Championship Series, which mixes the standard swim-bike-run disciplines with varied formats, and 2023 Arena Games Triathlon events, which was launched last year and blend real life and virtual racing.
It kicks off with the first Championship Series event of the 2022 season in London, UK, on September 4, with the series then visiting Munich, Germany (September 11), Malibu, US (September 17), Toulouse, France (October 2), and NEOM, Saudi Arabia (October 29).
The deal will see DAZN broadcast events live and non-exclusively in over 200 countries, as well as SLT shoulder content including the Every Second Counts documentary series.
SLT’s non-standard formats, off-season calendar, and “iconic locations” are conceived for a broadcast audience, with the property having grown quickly since its first season in 2017 to pen broadcast deals with the likes of UK public service broadcaster the BBC, UK and German sports broadcasters BT Sports and Sport1, and US media giant Discovery (now Warner Bros. Discovery).
In March, meanwhile, SLT entered into a strategic partnership with global video production and distribution agency Story10 increase its international exposure.
