Titleist is the most active sponsor brand in golf in 2022 as of Q3. The equipment and ball manufacturer has a total of 35 active global sponsorship agreements in golf.

Titleist’s biggest active deal is its agreement, worth an estimated $5m, with US golfer Jordan Spieth.

Titleist is a US golf equipment brand owned the Acushnet Company.

2. Rolex – 21 active deals

Rolex is in second place in terms of active global golf sponsorship agreements. The company has a total of 21 active agreements during the review period and its biggest active deal in golf is its agreement, worth an estimated $192.95m, with the PGA European Tour.

Rolex manufactures luxury wristwatches and is one of the largest watch production companies in the world, producing around 2,000 watches a day. Rolex’s sponsorship portfolio is predominantly comprised of properties within golf, tennis, sailing, equestrian and motor racing.

With a total of 14 active golf sponsorship deals globally, NetJets is positioned third. The most valuable active sponsorship deal of NetJets in golf is with the PGA Tour. This agreement is worth an estimated $5m.

NetJets is a US company involved in the sale of shared ownership of private jets. A subsidiary of conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway, its sponsorship activity is largely focused on golfers and tennis players.

4. Nike – 13 active deals

The fourth biggest active sponsor brand in golf in 2022 is NIKE with 13 active sponsorship deals, as of the third quarter. Nike made its biggest active sponsorship agreement, worth $100m, with Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.

Nike is a leading multinational athletic footwear and apparel corporation based in the USA. Its sponsorship portfolio includes high-profile athlete endorsements and kit supplier partnerships with teams, leagues and competitions.

5= TaylorMade – 10 active deals

TaylorMade is the fifth biggest active sponsor brand in Golf in 2022 with 10 active worldwide sponsorship agreements.

Valued at an estimated $100m, the deal with Rory McIlroy is TaylorMade’s biggest active sponsor agreement in Golf.

TaylorMade specialises in the design and manufacturing of golf equipment. TaylorMade is a major sponsor of golf, as well as having numerous endorsement deals with professional golfers. The brand is a subsidiary of private equity group KPS Capital Partners, having been sold to the firm by previous owners adidas in May 2017 for $425m.

5= Callaway – 10 active deals

Callaway has the equal fifth highest volume of active global golf sponsorship agreements with 10 active deals.

Its biggest sponsorship deal in golf is with US player Phil Mickelson. This deal is worth an estimated $40m, though is currently paused.

Callaway is an American golf company that specialises in the design, manufacturing and sale of golf equipment. Callaway is a major sponsor of golf and has numerous endorsement deals with professional golfers, both past and present.

7= MasterCard – 9 active deals

Mastercard ranks seventh equal among the ten biggest active sponsor brands in golf in 2022. The company has nine active sponsorship deals globally.
Worth an estimated $36m, the agreement with PGA Tour is MasterCard’s biggest active deal in golf.

MasterCard is a brand of debit or credit card owned by parent company and American multinational financial services company, MasterCard Worldwide. Its main sponsorship properties are within soccer, tennis, golf and rugby.

7= Aon – 9 active deals

With nine active Golf sponsorship agreements in place globally, Aon stands next during the review period.

The most valuable active deal of Aon in golf is with PGA Tour. The agreement is worth an estimated $20m.

Aon is a multinational insurance and re-insurance firm founded in the USA and headquartered in London. Aon is a major sponsor of soccer worldwide, and has sponsored a range of other sports such as American football, motor racing, rugby union and yachting.

9. Adidas – 8 active deals

Adidas occupies the ninth position with eight active sponsorship deals in golf in 2022 globally, according to GlobalData.

The agreement, worth an estimated $10m, with US player Xander Schauffele is Adidas’ biggest active sponsorship deal in golf.

Adidas AG is a German multinational company that specialises in the design, manufacturing and sale of sports clothing, shoes, equipment and accessories. Adidas has a large sponsorship portfolio that encompasses a number of sports.

10. Ping – 7 active deals

Ping ranks tenth among the top ten active sponsor brand in golf in 2022. According to GlobalData’s sports sponsorship deals database, Ping has seven active sponsorship agreements in golf globally, as of Q3 2022. Ping’s biggest active deal, worth an estimated $20m, is its sponsorship of former world number one Lee Westwood.

Ping is a US sports equipment company, specializing in the production of golf clubs and bags.
