China is re-emerging as one of the world’s top global sports event hosting nations, after being awarded the winter Olympics in 2022, and the FIBA Basketball World Cup for Men 2019 earlier this month, in the space of just eight days. Now, as Beijing hosts the IAAF World Athletics Championships, and with a Chinese bid for the Asian Games in 2022 also declared last week, China is back and is expected soon to target the Fifa World Cup.
