UEFA, European soccer’s governing body, has begun the tender process for selecting a company or companies to provide signage production and services at both the 2023 Under-21 European Championship and 2024 European Football Championship a year later.
The body yesterday (March 21) issued a request for information (RFI), with a deadline for submission of April 8.
UEFA has eight lots it plans to allocate – six for Euro 2024, which will take place across Germany, and two for the Under-21 Euros, which are scheduled for Georgia and Romania in June and early July next year.
The selected and shortlisted companies will receive the full request for proposals (RFP) on 30 May, with June and July allocated for “evaluation, clarification, and selection of shortlisted entity(ies)”.
The supplier/s will then be appointed on 30 August.
In terms of the information which UEFA has asked to receive before sending out the RFP, this covers categories such as a description of proven experience in the relevant sector, evidence of sufficient resources, an organizational chart, a statement of the undertaking, and an overview of the “technical event equipment owned by the candidate/s.”

The lots for Euro 2024 cover fence dressing production, fabric production, bulk production, signage production and servicing for the international broadcast center and training camps, and signage production and servicing across specific venues (two separate clusters).
For next year’s under-21 tournament, the two lots cover fabric production and signage production and servicing.
That tournament will be staged across four Romanian and three Georgian stadiums, while in Germany 10 cities will play host to action from the 2024 Euros.
In January, UEFA issued an RFI from firms interested in participating in a tender for exclusive hospitality sales rights at Euro 2024.
The governing body is looking to select a chosen candidate for that role by April 15.
At the end of last year, meanwhile, UEFA began the tender process to find a supplier (or suppliers) responsible for “the provision of pitch quality support” for the venues that will host the 2024 Euros.
The provider/s will be responsible for ensuring that “the playing surfaces across the 10 venues and the various team base camps and team transfer training grounds meet the required standard for Europe’s elite men’s national team competitions.”
The final schedule and format of the 2024 Euros, which will contain 24 teams, has not yet been decided.
