FanDuel, the US fantasy sports and betting firm, has today (August 7) unveiled a tie-up with the IMG Arena betting arm run by the media and entertainment heavyweight.
Through the agreement, the IMG Arena Golf Event Centre (GEC) will be integrated into FanDuel’s Sportsbook.
This collaboration will begin with the PGA Tour’s FedEx St. Jude Championship, taking place in Memphis, Tennessee, between August 9 and 13.
FanDuel will, through the addition of the GEC, bring a new library of live betting markets that will “allow fans to engage with golf at any point in the tournament.”
In addition, the GEC will provide FanDuel with an enhanced data visualization experience for fans to watch during tournaments. Fans will be able to track each shot in real-time, view hole profiles, and see course maps, as well as have access to a live leaderboard.
FanDuel struck a multi-year partnership to become an official PGA Tour betting partner in mid-2020.

By GlobalDataThe collaboration between the golf tour and IMG Arena, meanwhile, began in 2018.
The GEC is a front-end solution that provides shot-by-shot data and markets, live streaming, and interactive course visualizations to enhance the betting experience.
Christian Genetski, FanDuel Group’s president, said: “As an official betting operator of the PGA Tour, we’re continually looking for innovative ways to elevate the golf betting experience on our platform for fans during their favorite tournaments. By integrating IMG Arena’s Golf Event Centre into our sportsbook platform, we can offer fans access to a robust catalog of live markets that will give them new ways to engage with the sport on every hole.”
Brian Clayton, vice president of sales for the Americas at IMG Arena, added: “Now FanDuel customers can enjoy its immersive data-visualization features during the PGA Tour’s world-class tournaments, and benefit from unique markets to enjoy every shot, hole, and player.”
In December last year, IMG Arena struck a golf-specific partnership with Australia-based international online bookmaker PointsBet in the US, with PointsBet’s mobile app having now been integrated into the GEC.
