Sportdeutschland.TV retains EHF Women's Euros rights
Next month's Women's European Handball Championships are to be shown exclusively in Germany once again by Sportdeutschland.TV, the sports streaming platform created by the DOSB, the German Olympic sports federation.
Sportdeutschland.TV, now owned by German media group ProSiebenSat.1, will show all 47 games live and on demand free of charge, with extensive highlights also to be offered.
The tournament will be staged entirely in Denmark from 3 to 20 December, after Norway withdrew as a co-host because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Germany open their account against Romania on 3 December, with other group stages fixtures against Norway (5 December) and Poland two days later.
Sportdeutschland.TV also showed the EHF 2018 Women's Euros, while Sport1 held the rights in 2016.
The EHF Women's Euros was not included in the package of men's national team tournament rights that public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF acquired in late 2018 from the Infront and Lagadere (now Sportfive) agencies.
That deal covered the 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2025 Men's World Championships (through Lagardere) and 2020, 2022 and 2024 Men's Euros through Infront), the latter edition of which will be held in Germany.
