Carone assumes charge of CSM in North America as Mannix becomes adviser
International agency CSM Sport and Entertainment has restructured its leadership in North America with Dan Mannix, until now chief executive for the region, moving to a new advisory role, and recent arrival Christa Carone taking the helm.
Mannix joined CSM in 2016 when his agency LeadDog Marketing Group was bought by the UK-based company, and has served as chief executive for North America since May 2018, helping to drive growth and integration of acquisitions in sponsorship strategy and consulting, and rights management and production services.
He is take up a senior adviser role at CSM, focusing on major clients, while devoting more time to True Colours Leadership Foundation, a non-profit company he launched two years ago to increase minority representation in the sports business.
Carone (pictured) joined CSM as president of the North American arm in January of this year, bringing 24 years of experience in senior management, most recently as president of Group Nine Media, a US digital media company.

As the head of CSM North America, Carone will join the executive board of the agency’s global operations, and take responsibility for business in her region, including partnerships for rights holders, sponsorship strategies for brands, virtual and in-person consumer experiences, production services and professional and youth sports leagues’ marketing and management.
The North American arm has been working with sports bodies such as women’s tennis’ WTA, US Club Soccer and New York Road Runners and prominent broadcasting, digital and marketing entities led by Fox, Amazon Prime Video, TikTok, Mazda and L’Oreal.
Carone’s previous roles have included chief marketing officer of Xerox as the company moved into business services, working on partnerships with tennis’ US Open, LiveNation and Cirque du Soleil, and chief operating officer of WPP-owned Group SJR, contributing to its growth by leading content marketing strategies for Fortune 100 companies.
