BeIN gets on track with DTM for 2020 season
BeIN Media Group, the international pay-television operator, has made a new motor racing rights acquisition in agreeing a deal to show this year’s Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, the Germany-based touring car series.
The agreement covers 24 countries in the Middle East and North Africa and 11 in the Asia-Pacific region.
Following a delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 DTM season, featuring teams backed by Audi and BMW, gets under way this weekend with two races at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
BeIN will show all 18 races across the nine rounds, to be held in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The season concludes at Hockenheim on 7 and 8 November.
In a statement, Richard Verow, the chief sports officer of BeIN Media Group, said: “DTM is fantastic entertainment for motor sport fans and we’re thrilled to secure the exclusive rights for BeIN Sports and diversify our coverage across the MENA and APAC markets.”
