DraftKings extends deal with Stats Perform to boost fantasy app
DraftKings, the fantasy sports betting platform, has extended its deal with international sports data and technology provider Stats Perform to boost its daily fantasy sports and live fantasy products.
Under the deal, which prolongs a relationship dating back to 2012, DraftKings will use Stats Perform’s live data feeds from major sports leagues for use in its daily fantasy sports contests and DK Live, the company’s play-by-play fantasy app.
The leagues include the National Basketball Association, the Women’s National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, FIBA, the international basketball federation, and Canadian Football League, as well as college American football, college men's basketball and top soccer leagues from around the world.
Stats Perform has claimed access to its wide range of competitions will allow DraftKings to expand its daily fantasy sports contests into more sports and leagues.
Steve Xeller, Stats Perform’s chief revenue officer, said: “Using Stats Perform data, DraftKings has sparked innovation and dramatic growth within the fields of predictive sports analytics and digital entertainment. As interest in DFS continues to grow, we look forward to our continued work with DraftKings to power a new wave of AI-powered sports statistics that drive new insights and opportunities for the DFS experience.”
Ezra Kucharz, DraftKings chief business officer, added: “Our growing list of daily fantasy sports games are extremely popular and require fast and accurate data for fans who are following along to games in real-time. Through our longstanding partnership with Stats Perform, we have developed an important layer of trust between our customers and the sports data they interact with.”
Last week, Stats Perform agreed a new exclusive deal with Football DataCo to collect and distribute event data for all major English and Scottish soccer leagues.
The agreement will see Stats Perform deliver detailed data to media, fantasy, broadcast and professional teams around the world.
