Stats Perform and Sport Buff partner to boost interactive engagement
Stats Perform, the international sports data and technology provider, has entered a partnership with sports gamification firm Sport Buff to deliver fan engagement solutions for broadcast and rights holders.
Under the partnership, Stats Perform will combine its sports data and insights with Sport Buff’s interactive overlay to help broadcasters, leagues, federations and competitions increase user engagement through unique fan interactions and gamification.
Stats Perform said the partnership will enable longer, more meaningful fan engagement sessions through live data and analytics overlays, predictions, polls, votes and more.
Benn Achilleas, chief executive of Sport Buff, said: “Sport Buff and Stats Perform are perfectly aligned to create a market leading platform to engage with the next generation of fans for some of the biggest sports competitions in the world. Together, we can seamlessly integrate our solutions to provide the ultimate on-screen and in-stadia experience that directly engages sports fans, delivering greater retention, fan insight and new sponsorship revenue models for our customers.”
As part of the deal, Sport Buff joins Stats Perform’s Sports Partners Intelligence Network. SPIN combines Stats Perform’s sports intelligence offerings with its top partners to develop complementary solutions for joint customers and the sports market.
Both firms said multiple new fan engagement and game integrations will launch in the coming months, with selected customers part of the collaboration.
Wayne Ford, senior vice-president of global partners and channels at Stats Perform, said: “Through our new partnership with Sport Buff, our advanced data is used for interactive gamification of any live or historical competition, helping fans engage with their friends around the biggest competitions and enabling longer, more meaningful engagement sessions on our customer’s platforms.
“Together with Sport Buff, we can begin to replicate this unique offering to new and existing customers, creating a seamless next generation sports fan application offering.”
Earlier this week, Stats Perform announced a new deal with Football DataCo, the UK company jointly owned by English soccer’s top-tier Premier League and second-tier English Football League and Scotland’s Scottish Professional Football League, to collect and distribute event data from matches.
The exclusive partnership covers data for broadcast, media and fantasy purposes and official player market data only for betting.
