Stats Perform to help create best practice model for sports data distribution
Stats Perform, the international sports data and technology provider, has committed to helping the International Betting Integrity Association establish a best practice model to regulate the supply of sports data to betting companies and sportsbooks.
The move follows a call from the IBIA yesterday for all companies involved globally in the betting data supply chain to come together and collaborate on a best practice working model.
Stats Perform said it had been discussing the need for a global code of conduct that all data providers can adhere to, with the IBIA, for some time.
It said in a statement: “Stats Perform has consistently advocated for best practice standards when it comes to the event data that drives betting markets… We fully support and commend (the IBIA) for leading the call.”
The company added: “We will work with them on establishing a global best practice model for sports event data.”
Andrew Ashenden, Stats Perform’s chief betting officer, said: “Over many years we have invested in an unparalleled integrity and quality control infrastructure and that investment continues to be at the heart of our operations… We are looking forward to contributing our expertise via the IBIA and its members.
“We have always maintained that collaboration in this space across sporting federations, governing bodies, third party integrity providers, regulators, operators and data suppliers is vital.”
Last October, Stats Perform teamed up with Control Risks, a prominent specialist risk company, to offer integrity solutions to the sports market.
Sports industry stakeholders are now able to access Control Risks' services via Stats Perform’s Integrity Unit to counter corruption and match-fixing.
The solutions on offer include forensic accounting, data analytics and traditional investigative capabilities.
Stats Perform was created last July from the merger of Stats, the US sports data company, and Perform, the Europe-based data and betting operation, and has positioned itself as a leader in sports AI and data.
