Matchroom Live launches with extensive archive ahead of return of live sport
Matchroom Live, the over-the-top streaming platform owned by the UK sports promoter headed up by Barry Hearn, went live today.
The platform, built and operated by StreamAMG, the provider of live video and OTT services, is showing archive content for free at present while live sport remains on shutdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.
When live sport does return, fans will also be able to stream events through a subscription package and pay-per-view options in territories without broadcast rights deals in place.
Content will come from across the Matchroom Sport portfolio of 12 sports - boxing, snooker, darts, pool, fishing, ping pong, golf, gymnastics, basketball, poker, netball and tenpin bowling.
StreamAMG has been a long-term partner of Matchroom Sport, operating the Professional Darts Corporation's PDCTV since 2016 and streaming the world heavyweight boxing title fight between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr in the Indian subcontinent in December 2019.
