Sky brings adventure sports content to NZ with Red Bull TV
Sky, the main pay-television operator in New Zealand, has signed a multi-year content distribution deal with Red Bull TV, an arm of the global energy drinks brand.
A wide variety of the adventure sports-focused content offered by Red Bull TV is now available on Sky Sport, including extreme sports on Sky Sport 8 and selected events and competitions on Sky Sport 5.
The sports on offer include cliff diving, kiteboarding, soapbox racing, mountain biking and snow sports, with a mix of live events, archive coverage and back catalogue footage.
All Red Bull TV’s content on Sky's linear channels will also be available on Sky Go, the pay-TV broadcaster’s streaming service, and via the Sky Sport Now on-demand platform.
Tex Teixeria, Sky NZ’s chief content officer, said: “We’re all about lining up content to appeal to the hugely diverse interests of all New Zealanders… There’s staggering growth in adventure sports and we’re absolutely here for that.
“We’re very excited about the partnership with Red Bull TV and what we can deliver to bikers, skaters, divers and drivers.”
Red Bull TV is operated and distributed by Red Bull Media House, the media subsidiary of the energy drink brand.
