PSA hopes Dailymotion tie-up will be a smash
The Professional Squash Association, the organiser of top men’s and women’s competitions in the sport, has entered a content-sharing partnership with video-streaming platform Dailymotion.
The governing body said that the tie-up “will increase PSA’s digital presence and help the sport grow its global audience.”
Dailymotion, which is owned by French media giant Vivendi, is offering extensive highlights from the PSA World Tour, exclusive interviews with leading players and coaching videos as part of the offering.
The agreement came into effect for last week’s PSA World Tour Finals in Cairo, Egypt, with more than 100,000 views on Dailymotion across the six-day event.
The PSA pointed out that it is the world’s second largest video platform (behind YouTube), with over 300 million unique users and more than 3 billion views per month.
Chris Harvey, the PSA’s head of digital, said today: “We’re excited to partner with Dailymotion to expand our digital content offering. Our digital following has grown tremendously over the past few years and we have built up a passionate and knowledgable fanbase. Dailymotion is one of world’s largest video-sharing sites and we’re looking forward to increasing the reach of the sport by utilising their platform."
