SUFAG to continue snowmaking at FIS events until 2023
FIS, the international ski federation, has extended its deal with SUFAG, the international provider of snowmaking machines, by four years.
Under the agreement signed at the recent FIS council meeting in Dubrovnik in Croatia, SUFAG, a subsidiary of the French MND group, will remain an ‘official product partner’ of the FIS through 2023.
This will entail making available snowmaking machines, including the new Makalu model, to ensure the smooth running of Alpine skiing events.
MND is also a partner of the FIS’s ‘Bring Children to the Snow’ programme, which introduces young people to snow sports, with SUFAG helping the federation to organise urban events by creating snow areas in cities.
Sarah Lewis, FIS secretary general, said: “The MND group and SUFAG are historic partners of FIS and they have shown their commitment to the development of ski competitions and bringing children and youngsters to the snow. It is essential for FIS and our stakeholders to have the main industrial players on our side and we welcome the extension of this partnership which aims at new horizons.”
