OSN to launch dedicated Cricket World Cup package for fans in MENA
OSN, the Middle East pay-television network, has launched a dedicated broadcast package for its coverage of the upcoming Cricket World Cup.
OSN has rights to broadcast the World Cup in 24 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, and fans in the region will be able to access special coverage of the tournament with the purchase of the Cricket World Cup season pass for AED199 ($54).
Earlier this year, OSN closed all of its sports channels, choosing to only retain its cricket channels.
The matches will be broadcast live exclusively on two new channels – OSN Cric Xtra 1 and OSN Cric Xtra 2 – and will be available for subscribers of the all-inclusive OSN platinum pack.
The package can also be added to all other OSN packs and will be available to subscribers to OSN's online and mobile app entertainment platform WAVO. The cricket pass can also be purchased as a standalone through WAVO.
In addition to the 48 live World Cup games, OSN season pass will include 10 warm-up games, as well as exclusive ICC pre-World Cup shows and post-match highlights.
World Cup matches can also be live-streamed on any device via OSN Play, the network’s over-the-top service.
The Cricket World Cup will begin on 30 May, when hosts England take on South Africa at the Oval in south London, and will run to 14 July.
