Infront launches digital media subsidiary iX.co
Infront, the international sports marketing agency, today announced the launch of iX.co, its new subsidiary digital media and solutions company designed to connect brands and rights-holders to global audiences.
Described as an “independent entity”, iX.co brings together the entire brand and media function of the Infront Group, including its in-house Infront Digital Service unit and New York-based Omnigon, the digital services firm which Infront acquired fully in 2019.
Infront said “pooling its expertise into a natively digital brand will allow it to be more agile in responding to evolving trends in media consumption of sports.”
Infront added that by investing substantially in digital reach, engagement and monetisation capabilities, “iX.co can drive the digital transformation process for rights-holders and brands, helping them grow their audiences through content and engaging experiences.”
Christoph Heimes, Infront’s senior director of digital media, platforms and services, and former YouTube head of sports, EMEA, will head up iX.co as chief executive.
Philippe Blatter, Infront president and chief executive, said: “The launch of iX.co is an important step for Infront. Our group strategy and our business model is constantly evolving and diversifying to address the changing marketplace and the needs of our existing and future customers.
“iX.co is a rare breed in the digital media industry in that it combines product design, platform technology, data science, storytelling, and a direct-to-consumer as well as B2B service offering – all under one roof. We can drive the digital transformation process by leveraging data science to understand how audiences behave, and what they seek, building memorable experiences, and commercialising these connections to help our customers grow their businesses.”
