Derbystar to remain as official Eredivisie ball for three more seasons
Derbystar, the sportswear and equipment manufacturer, will continue to provide the official match ball for Dutch soccer’s top-tier Eredivisie after a new three-season agreement was signed with the league.
The new contract, brokered by Eredivisie Media & Marketing, the league's media and marketing arm, begins with the 2019-20 season.
Sportdirect.com, the Dutch online sportswear retailer that markets Derbystar merchandise, has been a partner of the Eredivisie since 2006 and also supplies the match ball for the Netherlands’ second-tier Jupiler League.
Each season Derbystar has worked with famous Dutch artists and actors to design the official Eredivisie ball. For the 2019-20 season, the company has collaborated with the Rijksmuseum to use a design from Dutch painter Rembrandt.
The deal is part of the Rijksmuseum '2019 Year of Rambrandt', marking the 350 year anniversary of his death.
Meanwhile, Eredivise table-toppers, and Uefa Champions League semi-finalists, Ajax have appointed Susan Lenderink as financial director.
Lenderink will officially join the club on 1 July, succeeding Jeroen Slop.
She is presently chief financial officer at De Bijenkorf, the high-end department store company.
