Fifa launches media rights tender for annual awards ceremony
An invitation to tender has been launched for media rights across the world to the next two editions of The Best Fifa Football Awards, the annual soccer awards ceremony organised by the sport’s international governing body.
The 2019 edition takes place at the Teatro alla Scalla in Milan on 23 September, and will feature the crowning of the best male and female footballers of the season.
Luka Modric of Real Madrid and Croatia and Marta of Orlando Pride and Brazil were the respective award winners at last year’s ceremony in London.
The global tender covers all territories with the exception of certain territories in Europe* and the Spanish-language broadcast in USA, Puerto Rico and American Samoa.
In a statement, Fifa said: “This tender process will allow FIFA to select the media companies that are best placed to secure the strongest platform and to achieve FIFA’s objectives of reaching the widest possible audience and providing a high-quality viewing experience for fans.”
Media companies or organisations wishing to participate in the tender process are directed to request the ITT by sending an email to FIFA.email@example.com providing the name of the company and the job title and name of the representative responsible for the tender process.
A question-and-answer period runs from today until 21 May and offers for the rights must be submitted to Fifa by 10am CEST on 22 May.
