Hublot signs endorsement deal with Real Madrid's Marcelo
Brazilian soccer star Marcelo has become the latest player to sign an endorsement deal with Hublot, the Swiss luxury watch brand.
The agreement, which was brokered by B-Engaged, the international marketing and commercial agency in sport, runs for one year, and the Real Madrid full back will promote the company's ‘Spirit of Big Bang’ range of watches.
Hublot joins other brands such as Adidas and Pepsi in sponsoring the 30-year-old player.
The deal forms part of Hublot's strategy to enhance its presence in soccer with Marcelo (pictured) becoming the second active player to partner with the Swiss watchmaker.
Last November, young French soccer sensation Kylian Mbappe became the lead brand ambassador for Hublot, replacing Usain Bolt, the Olympic sprint legend, in a deal worth as much as €1 million ($1.13 million) per year.
Other Hublot ambassadors include Brazilian soccer icon Pele, NBA star Dwyane Wade and top US golfer Dustin Johnson.
Hublot also has sponsorship deals with leading soccer clubs including Juventus, Chelsea and Benfica.
