DAZN USA doubles monthly subscription and introduces annual pass
DAZN, the international over-the-top sports broadcaster, is significantly changing its pricing structure in USA in a bid to encourage American sports fans to purchase new one-year subscriptions.
From next week, the monthly rate will more than double to $19.99 from $9.99, although a more cost-effective annual pass, priced at $99.99, will be introduced to entice customers.
The annual package works out at $8.33 per month and is designed for the more committed sports fan, rather than those that subscribe, watch a single event, and then cancel.
DAZN has invested over $1 billion into US-based content since launching in the country in September, much of which has gone into fight sports, in deals with Matchroom Boxing and Bellator MMA.
Beginning this Major League Baseball season, it streams a live show each weeknight that features live look-ins to the best MLB action as it is happening. The programme moves around live MLB games to showcase the most crucial moments and plays.
The three-year deal with MLB is worth a total of $300 million over three years.
