IOC's new Olympic House HQ to be inaugurated on 23 June
Olympic House, the new headquarters of the International Olympic Committee in the Vidy district of Lausanne, which has been under construction for over three years, is set to be inaugurated on 23 June this year.
Olympic Day will also be celebrated on that day, marking the 125th anniversary of the creation of the IOC.
Privately funded and with “the strong ambition to meet the most demanding sustainability standards both locally and internationally,” the building will house all of the IOC’s 500 staff – presently divided between four different locations in Lausanne – under one roof.
Selected by the IOC in April 2014 after an international architecture competition, Danish architects 3XN partnered with Swiss counterparts IttenBrechbühl to oversee the project.
