12Bet backs UK's first staging of World Taekwondo Championships
12Bet, the online betting company, has signed up as an official partner of the 2019 World Taekwondo Championships, set for Manchester in the north west of England.
The sponsorship deal was brokered on behalf of national governing body GB Taekwondo by Sport Collective, the UK-based sports marketing agency set up by Peter Daire and Sean McAuliffe, formerly of England’s Football Association
The 15 to 19 May World Championships are being staged in the UK for the first time, and will be broadcast across the digital platforms of the BBC, the public-service broadcaster, with highlights to be carried on the BBC2 channel.
12Bet has previously sponsored two taekwondo grand prix events in the UK.
Matt Archibald, chief executive of GB Taekwondo, said: “We are delighted that 12Bet have decided to extend the partnership to a third major event. Their support for taekwondo has been extremely valuable during the Tokyo Olympic cycle. Home advantage has helped our athletes gain valuable Tokyo ranking points. This deal further demonstrates that we can help brands access both domestic and international markets”.
